EUROPA

Lars Von Trier's masterpiece-visually, stunning.
On October of 1945, the American German descendant Leopold Kessler arrives in a post-war Frankfurt and his bitter Uncle Kessler gets a job for him in the Zentropa train line as a sleeping car conductor. While traveling in the train learning his profession, he sees the destructed occupied Germany and meets Katharina Hartmann, the daughter of the former powerful entrepreneur of transport business and owner of Zentropa, Max Hartmann. Leopold stays neutral between the allied forces and the Germans, and becomes aware that there is a terrorist group called "Werewolves" killing the sympathizers of the allied and conducting subversive actions against the allied forces. He falls in love for Katharina, and sooner she discloses that she was a "Werewolf". When Max commits suicide, Leopold is also pressed by the "Werewolves" and needs to take a position and a decision.THANKS IMDB

I have never

Skipped school today and headed down to the universities school
of fine arts and watched a girls performance for her art.

She was playing the drinking game "I have never" with herself, and got
the audience to put i have never...'s in the box.

Amixture of immature, funny, sexual and horrible ones were in there.

1. I have never had afternoon tea with an elephant
2. I have never been mesmorised by oranges.
3. I have never kissed a girl (giggle, drink)
4. I have never fucked. (drink)
5. I have neveer had sex for revenge. (drink)
6. I have never had sex outside the burnside high school
art dept. (drink)
7. I have never fabtasised over a family member
8. I have never thought about a lecturer in a sexual way (drink)

after a bottle and half of red later, in 45 mins, she was done.
It was all about power being out of her hands and self admittance.

was amusing, and interesting with crowd reactions, etc.

well worth skipping sculpture for!

FREE THEATRE

Remember back, deep into the abyss of my posts, actually
only a few back...I posted about FAUST:CHROMA, staged
by Christchurch Free Theatre.

Just Went to see Ella and Susn. Two monologues presented
in and old style loft theatre, down a back alley.

Two very disturbing and intruding monologues, by fantastic
acttooooorrssss and of course the ever stunning director
Peter Falkenburg.

Typical of Christchurch: Chairs were arranged in a heap in
the middle, so everyone took one off the pile and went to the
back of the room. So instead, my friend and I sat amongst the
pile.

love this theatre company, all of their work is simply stunning
and mesmorising!

Tim Hawkinson

Tim Hawkinsons works are actually stunning, not are they only aesthetically (sp!) pleasing
but they are quite clever. I don't know about this particular works, but if your are interested, he does a series of sculptures out of coke cans and combs and stuff, that are analog clocks. Google him. Very very clever!

DAMIEN HIRST

Probably one of the most influential sculptures of
our time.

WICKED

SAVE ME FROM THE WICKED!

I cannot believe I haven't posted about this yet!

So here goes the story, a little remenise (spelling). I was doing my first ever show [cute!] with Riccarton players, the local amateur group, of Joseph. The most amazing cast and the most amazing experience of my life, many people are now friends for life. Anyways. so it was closing night and we will sad and on the drive home, someone put on defying gravity. That was the moment i was introduced to WICKED. I then loved wicked for years and it came to Melbourne. I went and saw it and LOVED it of course. Fascinated me, being a lighting designer myself. and we are doing wizard of oz this year so very helpful.

But anyways, if you want to know more about the most OZTASTIC musical ever click here.

I love it because, again, it is so dark and fantasy like!
love it, amazing music, AMAZING moving sets, lighting, stunning costumes.
and Kerry Ellis' fantatsic rock version of defying gravity.
Love it, be it, defy it!

Daniel Richter

Daniel Richter set out to conquer the art world.
Personally, I think that is impossible.

However, he has [and continues] to create a great
body of work. He has a specifc style and work.

His paintings are a bit booo, but his drawings are just
amazing.

I think it is impossible to conquer the art world. Sure I think
Daniel Richter is amazing, but then the likes of Marcin Cienski
are around and create fantastic, dark, mysterious pieces, which is
a bit more my style. So really, how do you judge if you have conquered
the art world?? By the most sold? I don't think so. Most exhibitions?
perhaps. there is no real way though in my mind!

lookbook.nu

Lookbook is way cool!
cool people
cool clothes
cool photos
and you can just keep mindlessly scrolling for hours!
great!
Only thing is that it is *invite only*
I think i have one spare...

Marcin Cienski

A very cool painter
uses often religious (somewhat anti) subject matter
very dark

his works a like a puzzle that in which he only ever
reveals one pice of the puzzle, the clues are there.

Use your mind to finish it.

ONE DAY SCULPTURE

Sunday March 15 2009 saw The Physics Room and Christchurch Art Gallery present a new sculptural work by the international artist Thomas Hirschhorn developed specifically for Christchurch and part of the New Zealand-wide ONE DAY SCULPTURE series.

This remarkable sculpture existed for just 24 hours, starting at midnight Saturday 14 March until midnight Sunday 15 March, in a busy public location on The Esplanade that runs adjacent to the Christchurch beaches of Sumner and Scarborough. Hirschhorn dramatically customised a standard sedan with a variety of cheap materials as is typically seen in his practice, and places the car on show for a limited time only—potentially attracting both car enthusiasts and the general public alike.

The sculpture references the global enthusiasm for car customisation evident in the lowered, louder, brighter and bolder DIY modifications seen parading city streets: "I am interested in the universal act of customising. Its universality comes from its personal act as an individual gesture. Universality is created by love, by personal implication, by giving a form to one’s passion. I am interested in the Form which is created by customising or tuning a car. The fact of personalising one’s own ordinary car in order to give it a unique individual touch is the revolutionary gesture of everybody, without exclusion. Customising or tuning is an act of resistance to the non-written laws of all kinds of exclusion. In the desperate and useless act of car-tuning I see a form of resistance throughout form. And as an artist - what can interest me more than Form?"

marina ABRAMOVIC

.... Is (as she likes to call herslef) the "Grandmother of Performance Art", and that she is, along with Matthew Barney as the Grandfather. Together, they have given birth to a generation of artists known as Performance Artists.

What might you ask is a Performance Artist? Well, my troubled child, Performance Art is:
"... is art in which the actions of an individual or a group at a particular place and in a particular time constitute the work. It can happen anywhere, at any time, or for any length of time. Performance art can be any situation that involves four basic elements: time, space, the performer's body and a relationship between performer and audience. It is opposed to painting or sculpture, for example, where an object constitutes the work. Of course the lines are often blurred. For instance, the work of Survival Research Laboratories is considered by most to be "performance art", yet the performers are actually machines." [thanks WIKI]

Marina Abramovic's career has spanned so far over three decades and in that time she has had viewers totrue her with whips, knifes and perhaps even a gun, and had viewers carve stars into her stomach. She has also starved herself in a gallery for 12 days. Outrageous.
She is amazing, everyone should worship her.

LAPSONG SOUCHONG

Just thought I would introduce you to this most amazing tea.

Smokey in flavour

Chinese black tea, smoked in baskets over a wood fire.

and that basically sums up the taste.

Two words, wood burner.

Great for a cold stormy night... a bit like tonight where I am!

Not a good night to be wandering the streets of town!

COCA - COLA ENJOY.

LEGGINGS

FYI....

mens leegins are coming back in, well actually, if you don't already know...THEY ARE IN.

yup thats right. I started the craze, because I am that good. Its all about showing it in the right places, starting with Brunswick Street, Melbourne. Wanna hear the story??? Yeah ya do!

So, I was looking on the chronicles last season shoot, and their men were wearing tight track pants. So, i was like cool! and I searched for some for a good amount of time in the big Christchurch, with no luck. What was I really expecting anyway?! CHRISTCHURCH?! COME ON!

So, then I went to Melbourne, walked into my fav shop, and there they were, sitting in the womens sections, but hey! So, they are not like tights, and not like track pants, think a mix of both. Like tights, but slightly furry. I wore them down Fitzory one day, got a few looks. Went down 2 weeks later. I spotted 6 guys wearing them

What can i say!

So! hint hint. from boho central itself. and you know me. preferably. black on black is best.
